The First KAMAZ M1842 Vehicles are Given to Their Owners
Today, on December 9, the first owners received 20 KAMAZ-5490 (M1842) long-haul tractors at a solemn ceremony held at the final assembly stages in a cabin shop of the Automobile Plant.
The representatives of ten organizations received keys for the brand-new KAMAZ trucks from Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ. The first owners of the long-haul tractors which have no analogues in the Russian auto industry are SIM-Avto (Moscow), Krasnodarskiy avtotsentr KAMAZ, Chelyabinsk’s KAMAZAVTOMARKET, Vladimir Koryakin, a private entrepreneur from the city of Volgograd, other cargo carriers. Kurgan’s APH Shturman Kredo+ and Naberezhnochelninskiy avtotsentr KAMAZ bought the vehicles for a test drive. The vehicles were obtained even before rolling off the assembly line: the trucks given to their owners today are a pre-new year batch of 96 new KAMAZ vehicles bought without seeing. The first contracts for leasing of the would-be vehicles were concluded in September, at the COMTRANS-2013 exhibition. According to Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, it was done thanks to entrepreneurial vision of the first owners of the unique KAMAZ vehicles, “They immediately realized that these advanced products have good prospects.”

Only the Best Components for KAMAZ Vehicles
Top managers of BorgWarner Turbo Systems – the largest producer of turbo-chargers manufacturing turbomachinery under the trademarks Schwitzer (England) and KKK (Germany) – visited KAMAZ.
Frédéric Bernard Lissalde, Vice President and President and General Manager, BorgWarner Turbo Systems, arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny with other top managers of the company in order to hold negotiations with Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ. Besides, the delegation met with Irek Gumerov, Director for Development, and Rustam Shamsutdinov, Director for Purchasing. They discussed options of their beneficial cooperation.
The guests visited the KAMAZ engine plant and CUMMINS KAMA Joint Venture located on its territory where they saw a process of KAMAZ and Cummins engine assembly, visited the Automobile Plant where they were demonstrated the work of the mother assembly line and a cab assembly line.Read the full text »
Business cooperation of KAMAZ with BorgWarner Turbo System (Schwitzer till 1999) in engineering development started as far back as 1988. Today Schwitzer turbo-compressors delivered to KAMAZ are used to produce engines of the Euro 3 and Euro 4 emission standards. Besides, they are installed on gas engines of KAMAZ vehicles and NEFAZ buses.

New M1842 KAMAZ Vehicles on Russian Roads
By the end of 2013, 96 next-generation KAMAZ-5490 (M1842) long-haul tractors made in cooperation with Daimler AG will have rolled off KAMAZ’s assembly line.
The first KAMAZ-5490 production vehicle the gross combination weight of which is 44 tonnes rolled off the assembly line this October. The conveyor and the whole quality control system were reconstructed specially for KAMAZ-5490 production, and it was the first modernization of such a scale in the company’s history. It is planned to produce 2,000 such trucks in 2014. It should be noted that the first vehicles had been bought already before they rolled off the assembly line, and, in December 2013, all KAMAZ vehicles produced under the M1842 index will be delivered to their owners.
The world’s best technologies were applied to develop the new model range, which enabled to make the brand-new comfortable and safe vehicle with up-to-date electronic equipment. Today’s KAMAZ long-haul tractors are comfortable Mercedes-Benz cabins from the Axor line with air conditioners and heated seats and a modified system of the KAMAZ chassis. The new KAMAZ vehicles received new names according to international standards, which will enable to more easily promote them in the markets. In the first place, indices will be changed for KAMAZ-5490, KAMAZ-65206 and KAMAZ-65207. They will be called M1842, T2642 and T2640, respectively.

KAMAZ and Sberbank Leasing Agree to Cooperate
4 December 2013, Naberezhnye Chelny – ZAO Sberbank Leasing and OJSC KAMAZ are developing partnership. The companies will jointly develop programs for promotion of vehicles with the use of leasing instruments.
The cooperation agreement between ZAO Sberbank Leasing and OJSC KAMAZ was concluded on the 4th of December in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny. The document was signed by Dmitry Eroshok, General Director of ZAO Sberbank Leasing, and Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ.
The parties agreed to join their efforts aimed at an increase in the sales volume of automobile, special and passenger equipment of such trademarks as KAMAZ, NEFAZ, SZAP, TZA and BRAVIS due to lease financing offers.Read the full text »
The agreement stipulates, in particular, development of joint long-term programs and short-term campaigns for promotion of products of the KAMAZ plant, information, advertising and consultation support, acceleration of consideration of clients’ applications for lease financing.
The companies also plan to develop cooperation with the purpose of expansion and popularization of the use of gas engine fuel.

Sberbank of Russia Strengthens Cooperation with OJSC KAMAZ
4 December 2013, Naberezhnye Chelny – Sberbank of Russia and OJSC KAMAZ have signed a cooperation agreement. The document bears the signatures of Herman Gref, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Sberbank of Russia, and Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ.
The subject of this Agreement is to develop strategic cooperation between the parties, including subsidiaries and associates of the Bank and the Company, on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis. The Agreement provides for floatation of a sovereign bond issue to finance an investment program of OJSC KAMAZ, expansion of cooperation to finance the current activity and wage projects of KAMAZ Group, and also elaboration of a special favorable mortgage program for the company’s employees.

The legal department of OJSC KAMAZ was for the fifth time named the winner in the Automotive Engineering nomination at the eighth award ceremony of the annual international competition – The Best Legal Departments.
The annual competition has been held since 2006 and is the most prestigious non-commercial competition ground for legal departments of the largest Russian companies. The award was established by Wolters Kluwer International Concern and Corporate Lawyer magazine in 2005. Today, it is the most prestigious and acknowledged legal award established under the auspices of the Association of Russian Lawyers.
The best legal departments of Russia were named in 17 nominations corresponding to the leading sectors of Russian economy at the award ceremony. There were other nominees besides KAMAZ in the Automotive Engineering nomination, but the victory was won by the lawyers of KAMAZ for the fifth time.

KAMAZ will Supply Flood Victims with Tractors
KAMAZ workers raised funds to purchase equipment needed by flood victims in Priamurye – three KAMAZ XTX 215 tractors and an AP100S-T400-1R gas engine generating set.
It should be recalled that, after the tragedy which had struck the southern part of the Far East this summer and autumn, the workers of KAMAZ voluntarily raised 3.58 million roubles to help residents of the suffering regions. After consultation with authorities of these regions, the company took their needs into account and spent the raised money on three KAMAZ XTX 215 tractors with a full set of equipment. Thanks to a wide range of rigs, the tractor can perform a variety of operations from land clearance to transportation. The flood victims will undoubtedly use an AP100S-T400-1R gas engine stationary generating set. It operates as an autonomous power supply system with three-phase voltage 400V and frequency of 50 Hz in various climatic zones at a temperature ranging from +8°Ñ to +50°Ñ. It can operate both indoors and in heated container units.
The equipment will be received by the Office of Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of Khabarovsk Krai. The vehicles will be delivered by a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Khabarovsk – OOO Khabarovsky Vostochno-regionalny avtotsentr KAMAZ.

Partners Cement Relations
A delegation of Altai Precision Components Plant (APCP) led by Viktor German, Chairman of Board, has arrived at KAMAZ.
It is planned to hold negotiations with the participation of Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ; Yury Klochkov, CEO; Irek Gumerov, Director for Development; Rustam Shamsutdinov, Deputy Director General for Purchasing; and other KAMAZ top managers. During several meetings, the parties will discuss various issues of their further cooperation and deliveries of products in 2014.
Altai Precision Components Plant produces about 200 types of nozzles and injectors used almost in all Russian and foreign diesel engines. Products of APCP are delivered to conveyors of the leading producers of diesel equipment, including KAMAZ.Read the full text »

KAMAZ at ENES-2013
KAMAZ participated in the second international forum on energy efficiency and energy conservation ENES-2013 organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow.
The ENES-2013 forum is not only the main event in the sphere of energy efficiency, but also a professional business ground on which the representatives of energy companies and the state authority gather together. This year, the Russian Prime-Minister Dmitry Medvedev is one of its participants.
The KAMAZ stand for this event was made together with an official distributor of KAMAZ manufacturing gas-powered vehicles – RariTEK. The guests and participants of the forum managed to see a production gas-powered municipal vehicle based on a two-axle KAMAZ-4308 and get answers to their questions from KAMAZ’s representatives. A rear-tipping CMZL-9G garbage truck on a KAMAZ-4308 chassis displayed on the stand is designed for computerized and hand loading of solid domestic waste from standard containers with a capacity of 0.12 m3 and 1.1 m3 into a body, waste compaction, transportation and mechanized unloading in places of utilization. A fuel system of the vehicle features four tanks on the frame: two 100-litre tanks on the left side and two 80-litre tanks on the right side. The total capacity of the tanks is 360 litres or 72 cubic meters of compressed natural gas by pressure of 200 atm, which enables to travel 300 km without refueling. The vehicle is equipped with a modern turbocharged and charge-cooled gas engine generating 190 hp, with an electromagnetic dosing system, multipoint injection and spark-plug ignition systems.
The visitors and participants also took a great interest in a displayed model of a line of gas engines with a capacity of 11.76 litres and an engine net power ranging from 300 to 400 hp. The engine line is being developed under a contract with the Ministry of Education and Science with the participation of Kazan State Technical University. These engines comply with Euro 5 emission standards for alternative fuels (compressed and liquefied gases) and can be modernized up to Euro 6. Some components of the new models are made by Bosch, a partner of OJSC KAMAZ.

KAMAZ is Most Innovative in Auto Industry
KAMAZ took 25th place – the highest one among Russian automobile producers – in the Top-50 Russian Innovative Companies rating published by the Institute for Social-Economic Modernization (ISEM).
The rating helps to determine the current state of the innovation sphere in Russia, groups of companies actively developing and introducing innovative solutions in the Russian market, and also search for problem zones of the innovative sphere. The research was carried out by 67 marketing experts: representatives of venture, investment companies, journalists, academic, scientific and other professional organizations operating in the innovation market.
According to the ISEM experts, it was a surprise that three Russian auto producers entered TOP-50: KAMAZ (25th place), GAZ (40th place), and AvtoVAZ (43rd place). So, KAMAZ took the lead over the Russian auto producers with the best performance in “auto innovations”. The research was made in two stages. At the first stage, the experts compiled a list of companies pretending to be the most innovative companies. As a result, it included 73 positions. At the second stage, an internet voting for marketing experts was held to make the final rating table on the basis of its results. The experts were asked to assess the results of the companies’ innovative activities for 2013 according to a 10-point system. One point was given to a company which, according to the expert’s opinion, didn’t develop any innovation for the specified period. The highest point was given for the maximum possible performance in production and innovation in the Russian market.
