Discovery will Tell about KAMAZ

There are journalists of WAG TV with a two-day visit at KAMAZ to shoot a film for Discovery Channel (USA, Great Britain).

John Denis O’Mahony, Producer/Director, and Neve Cunningham, Director of Photography, will visit the main factories of the company to gather information which will help viewers learn how KAMAZ trucks are made. Today, the program-makers plan to visit the foundry plant, to see plasma cutting and the Dürr painting line at Kama Press and Stamping Plant.

Tomorrow, the reporters will make a tour of the engine plant, a cylinder block localization shop at CUMMINS KAMA (JV of KAMAZ and the US Company Cummins) and the main engine assembly line. After that, they will go to the automobile plant and film the mother assembly conveyor and a cab assembly line in operation. Finally, the guests will see state-of-the-art vehicles at the R&D Center of KAMAZ and the shop floor of KAMAZ-Avtosport, the center of the legendary KAMAZ-master team.

KAMAZ has always attracted foreign journalists’ keen interest and evoked their warm responses. The pioneers of KAMAZ remember that the launch of KAMAZ’s conveyor was photographed and filmed in multiple documentaries, covered in newspapers, broadcast and shown on TV not only in this country, but also abroad. Later, KAMAZ arrested foreign journalists’ attention thanks to brilliant Dakar victories of the KAMAZ-master team. The drivers, now the world’s best-known legends of the motor racing, were much in the news. So, it is natural that Discovery is interested in KAMAZ.

KAMAZ Organizes Practical Training for Students from Bashkiria

The foundry of OJSC KAMAZ plans to sign an agreement with Bashkir State University.

The students and lecturers of BashSU met with the representatives of the foundry plant of OJSC KAMAZ – Anatoly Lukin, Deputy Director of Personnel, and Rimma Karimova, Head of the Personnel Department. The main goal of the meeting was a presentation of the plant as an attractive place for students’ practical training.

According to the results of the meeting, the managers of the university appreciated a need for KAMAZ’s suggestion and decided to sign an agreement in order to organize summer paid practical training. The practice is scheduled for August. In all, it is planned to admit about 30 people.

KAMAZ has cooperated with other institutions of higher education to organize practical training. Thus, many graduating students from INEKA, now a member of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, underwent training courses at the foundry plant.

Boschung KAMA’s Equipment for Public Utilities

OOO Boschung KAMA, a joint venture and a strategic partner of KAMAZ and Boschung, presented samples of new special-purpose equipment – big vehicles for road cleaning, and also small-size equipment for operation on the pavement.

The equipment made by Boschung KAMA is installed on KAMAZ chassis. The main feature of this product is that the vehicles are used the whole year round. In winter, the chassis carry distribution equipment produced with tankers of different sizes for deicing materials. In summer, vacuum cleaners, equipment for fence cleaning and street washing systems are mounted on the chassis.

Besides, Boschung KAMA can supply municipal services with street cleaners on KAMAZ-53605 chassis with S600-K mounted road sweeping machines. This model features a system of quick summer/winter switching, which makes it easier to mount/dismount superstructures. Due to a double system of disk brushes, the range of sweeping reaches 3 m. Workers of public utilities will also like a road sweeping machine on a KAMAZ-6522 chassis with a mounted washer of the BPS type, with a sliding washer beam, a Hartz high-pressure pump and a water tank of 12 m3 capacity.

The small-size equipment includes S3 and Pony vacuum sweepers. Their main advantage is maneuverability which will enable workers of municipal services to operate in a confined space. Besides, these vehicles can be used the whole year round.

OOO Boschung KAMA is a joint venture producing municipal vehicles established by KAMAZ in partnership with the Swiss company Boschung Holding AG and based on KAMAZ premises.

Leasing from Manufacturer for Each Dealership Center

In order to promote the product “Leasing from the Manufacturer” at each dealership center of OJSC KAMAZ, experts of KAMAZ-LESING Group developed a program to conduct visiting working sessions on leasing.

The first session under this program was KAMAZ-LEASING’s visit to OOO URALKAM in Chelyabinsk. During the session, the dealers learned information on the state of the regional leasing market, new products and techniques of leasing from the manufacturer.

The experts of KAMAZ-LEASING gave a detailed account of a new leasing offer “Accelerated” which requires a greatly reduced set of necessary documents to lease KAMAZ vehicles. Besides, URALKAM’s experts managed to see concrete examples which proved that lease offers from KAMAZ-LEASING are very affordable on the Russian leasing market.

KAMAZ Welcomes Guests from Belarus

Today, on May 16, the representatives of the governmental delegation of the Republic of Belarus, including Vladimir Semashko, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, are at KAMAZ.

The main purpose of the visit is to negotiate a long-term cooperation between KAMAZ and the former Soviet republic. The delegation from Belarus includes Dmitry Katerinich, Minister of Industry; Viktor Osnovsky, General Director of JSC MAZ; Sergey Pyatkov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Committee of Belarus; the leading officials and businessmen of the Republic of Belarus. The guests from Belarus are welcomed and accompanied by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ; Irek Gumerov, Director of Development; Rustam Shamsutdinov, Deputy General Director of Purchasing.

The program of the visit of the delegation includes a tour of the engine plant and CUMMINS KAMA Joint Venture, a Cummins cylinder block processing line, a KAMAZ engine assembly line, and a Cummins engine assembly conveyor. Besides, the guests will visit the forge plant to see a crankshaft and front axle processing line. Later, it is planned to visit the mother assembly line and a cab assembly line of the automobile plant, and KAMAZ Research and Development Center where vehicles are usually exhibited. The guests from Belarus will also meet with the KAMAZ-master team at the KAMAZ-Avtosport Center.

KAMAZ Opens Its Doors

On the Doors Open Day, KAMAZ was visited by the representatives of industrial enterprises from Kurgan Oblast, and also the delegation of FSUE Progress State Research and Production Space Centre TsSKB-Progress from Samara.

This time, the Doors Open Day lasted actually two days. Yesterday, 13 representatives of the administration and business circles of the city of Shadrinsk of Kurgan Oblast visited the automobile plant. And today, on May 16, a group of ten managers and specialists of Samara’s Space Center TsSKB-Progress will be presented KAMAS’s Production System (PSK). The program of the rocketeers’ visit is expanded. The guests will not only visit the main assembly line and classrooms of the automobile plant, but also see how the production system is implemented at KAMAZ’s offices. The event will be crowned with a workshop devoted to the development of PSK.

The top managers of OJSC KAMAZ took a decision to hold the Doors Open Day annually. The reason is that different organizations very often send applications for a visit to KAMAZ and their desire to learn how KAMAZ implements its production system. Also, such events allow the company to promote the successful experience of the PSK development at its subsidiaries and dealership centers.

Units of RVSN Receive New KAMAZ Vehicles

In 2013, the military units of the Strategic Missile Troops of the Russian Federation (RVSN) will receive a large number of new KAMAZ vehicles.

The recent growth of supplies of vehicles to the RVSN ensures renovation of its whole vehicle fleet. Last year, the RVSN received over 130 KAMAZ and UAZ vehicles. Thus, the plan of vehicle supply was 100% realized. New vehicles are delivered mainly to re-equipped missile divisions. This news was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is planned to supply more than 100 vehicles to the formations and military units of the RVSN in 2013 to ensure their operational readiness. The main part of them – 50 units – is KAMAZ-53501 vehicles featuring three driving axles and, naturally, high cross-country ability. The rest vehicles are UAZ-3962, fire-fighting vehicles, passenger buses, trucks, recovery tractors, mobile auto repair shops.

Besides, it is planned to modernize more than 20 units of KAMAZ-4310 vehicles of the RVSN. It is planned to increase an engine`s power output, upgrade a transmission system, which will enhance a vehicle’s cross-country ability and reliability under the most difficult conditions of military operation. Within the limits of engineering supervision, the military vehicles will be serviced and repaired with the assistance of specialists of industrial enterprises.

Military vehicles are the main transport means ensuring mobility and maneuverability of troops, and also of armaments mounted on wheeled chassis – and it is more than 95 percent of ground-based mobile weapons and military equipment of the RVSN.

KAMAZ and Rosneft Sign Cooperation Agreement

OJSC KAMAZ and Rosneft concluded an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation to expand the use of natural gas as a motor fuel. Besides, agreements were signed with the governments of Voronezh, Samara Oblasts, as well as of Stavropol and Krasnodar Krai on cooperation to promote the use of gas engine fuel.

Russia’s leading truck producer and the largest oil and gas company plan to jointly carry out experimental design works to build vehicles running on gas, and also to develop a needed infrastructure of gas filling and service stations. Besides, it is planned to produce and convert vehicles, special-purpose and agricultural machinery to the use of compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas as a motor fuel.

The agreement also stipulates trainings and refresher trainings of engineers and technicians, mechanics and drivers to upgrade their skills in operation, maintenance and repair of gas-powered vehicles. In addition, the parties will create a working group to elaborate concerted approaches to realize top-priority pilot and long-term projects.

As regards the agreements signed with several regions, they provide for execution of joint tasks to convert transport from petrol and diesel fuel to gas. The documents prove that both the parties are interested in higher energy efficiency of the economy in regions and municipalities. To add to this, KAMAZ is ready to offer a wide variety of vehicles – buses and trucks powered with gas engines.

Governmental Delegation of Turkey at KAMAZ

Today, on May 15, within the framework of a working visit to Tatarstan, Şahabettin Harput, Governor of Turkey’s Bursa Province, as well as representatives of Turkey’s business and political leaders, arrived at KAMAZ accompanied by Ravil Zaripov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The delegation included Orhan Sabuncu, Chairman of Turkey’s Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association; Halil Akgül, Chairman of the Committee of Automobile Industry of the Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Bursa Province, Turkey; Gülçin Onaran, Investment Project Manager at Aktaş Holding.

Rustam Shamsutdinov, Deputy General Director of OJSC KAMAZ for Purchasing, and Danis Valeev, Chief Designer of KAMAZ – Director of KAMAZ’s R&D Center, will show KAMAZ to the delegates.

The program of the get-to-know-you visit includes a tour of the mother assembly conveyor and a cab assembly line of the Automobile Plant, as well as of some enterprises based on premises of Kamsky Industrial Park Master. The guests will see production facilities of the following companies located there: OOO Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok Holding, Leoni Wiring Systems, and Tirsan Kardan.

At the end of the visit, negotiations on prospects for further cooperation will be conducted with the participation of Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ.

KAMAZ-LEASING is on Top Level of Customer-Centered Orientation

Summing up the results of their study of real lease terms and the quality of lessors’ work, the company New Marketing Solutions gave KAMAZ-LEASING Group the top level of customer-centered orientation – AAA.

To collect objective information, the company New Marketing Solutions carried out a mystery client survey at 52 leading Russian leasing companies. Besides financial and non-financial lease terms, the aim of the survey was to assess the quality of the lessors’ work. The research was conducted among lessors of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, as well as among regional leasing companies located outside the Central Federal District.

There were nine main criteria of assessment of all leasing companies, including advance, period of submitting lease offers, vehicle insurance, commission fees, warranty maintenance and other additional services which a leasing company can offer its clients. Taking into account all these parameters, the company New Marketing Solutions gave KAMAZ-LEASING Group the top level of customer-centered orientation.
