KAMAZ to Discuss Prospects for Cooperation with Senegal

8 June 2017

Today, on June 8, the delegation of Senegal Republic is staying at KAMAZ with a business visit.

KAMAZ has welcomed Aliou Sall, President of the Association of Mayors of Senegal, and Abdoulaye Sow, President of West African and Russian Industrial Group. The main purpose of the visit is to see KAMAZ production and negotiate truck supplies to Senegal.

The foreign top managers familiarized themselves with the work of the main assembly conveyor and a cab assembly line at the automobile plant, examined a vehicle lin-up, including insulated vans and all-wheel drive vehicles, at the premises of Finance and Trading Company KAMAZ.

In the afternoon the tour of Naberezhnye Chelny will include KAMAZ-Autosport Center, the headquarters of the famous KAMAZ-master team, and Naberezhnye Chelny's KAMAZ automobile center. One of the final items of the business agenda are negotiations on prospects for cooperation to be held in the general director's office of KAMAZ.

KAMAZ has been delivering its vehicles to Senegal since 2003. The foreign guests' visit today follows a discussion of development and improvement of business relations. As Sergey Kogogin, Director General of the auto giant, noted at SPIEF-2017, as early as this year an agreement can be signed to open a KAMAZ assembly in Senegal. "They are ready to offer us conditions to locate production facilities in an industrial park not far from Dakar. It requires half a year to commence production", noted the head of KAMAZ. This refers to assembly of the current KAMAZ vehicle line-up. In particular, Senegal with a highly developed fishing industry shows quite a high demand for cool storage trucks, and the first contract has already been signed with KAMAZ for 400 trucks.
