22 May 2023

During the IV International SPbTransportFest Festival, a cooperation agreement was signed, providing for the transfer of the extra-large KAMAZ-6299 bus presented at the exhibition to Passazhiravtotrans, the largest passenger carrier in St. Petersburg, for test operation.

The document was signed by Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport at KAMAZ PTC, and Andrey Lyzin, General Director of St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise Passagiravtotrans. In accordance with the signed agreement, the parties intend to conclude a contract on the test operation of a KAMAZ-6299 city gas-powered bus of a particularly large class and transfer the bus to be test driven in the third quarter of 2023. The test run is to last two months.

"Passazhiravtotrans is our key partner. We have been cooperating for several years. By the way, over the past two years, 70 NEFAZ-5299 low-floor buses have replenished the fleet of this largest passenger carrier in St. Petersburg. At the same time, we understand how buses of a particularly large class are in demand in million-plus cities with intensive passenger traffic. Thus, our engineers have developed and brought a new articulated KAMAZ model-6299-40-5T to the market. The accordion will be relevant on the busiest routes of the Northern Capital. And I hope that during the test operation, the drivers of Passazhiravtotrans will appreciate the convenience of bus operation, and passengers will appreciate the comfort of the vehicle," said Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport at KAMAZ PTC.

"Passagiravtotrans expands the use of environmentally friendly transport on routes. Tests of modern prototypes annually conducted by the company make it possible to identify the advantages of new technical solutions and give recommendations to manufacturers of passenger equipment based on operating experience and passenger comfort and safety requirements," said Andrey Lyzin, General Director of St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise Passazhiravtotrans.

KAMAZ continues to expand its product line with promising models that are in demand in Russian regions and strengthen the technological sovereignty of the country. The CNG KAMAZ-6299 urban low-floor bus of a particularly large class was first presented to the general public in December 2022. It is equipped with a 320 hp gas engine and an automatic transmission. The total passenger capacity is 155 people, seating capacity is 44. The bus is designed to meet modern requirements for passenger comfort and safety and meets the requirements of an accessible environment. Also advantages of this model include low fuel consumption, moderate maintenance cost and long service life thanks to modern body manufacturing technologies.
