The KAMAZ-6282 electric bus with improved characteristics became the winner of the All-Russian competition 100 Best Goods of Russia and received a special prize Pride of the Fatherland. The award ceremony was held in Moscow.
Pride of the Fatherland is the highest award of the contest 100 Best Goods of Russia. It is awarded to innovative and high-tech products in the categories Industrial Goods for the Population and Industrial and Technical Products in which the new version of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus was nominated. The prize and the diploma of the laureate were awarded to Eduard Danilov, Chief Designer of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC, during the awarding ceremony of the winners of the competition.
The production of KAMAZ-6282 electric buses started in 2018. For four years, the specialists of the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Center have done a lot of work on the modernization of the electric bus, introducing a number of improvements aimed at raising the consumer properties of innovative equipment and passenger comfort.
Thus, the new version of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus can travel over 80 kilometers on a single battery charge (the drive range of the previous generation electric bus was 50 km). Among the introduced innovations there is an improved climate system, the new version of the KAMAZ–6282 electric bus features a fully electric heater, i.e. the electric bus does not emit emissions into the atmosphere. The electric bus is also equipped with adaptive interior lighting, which will change from cold to warm depending on the time of day. There is the fourth validator for fare payment in the salon (in the standing area). The front route indicator was also improved, now it is larger, the route number is larger too, and the text itself is brighter.
The KAMAZ-6282 is in demand in Moscow: today 772 electric buses assembled at the enterprise are already running on the streets of the capital. Taking into account modern realities, large-scale import phasing-out work was carried out in 2022, and, in February of this year, KAMAZ plans to start production of the updated electric bus with an increased share of Russian components and components from friendly countries. The company will participate in the next tender in Moscow with the new electric bus.
Today, this work and other innovative solutions of the company are of strategic importance for the country. KAMAZ is actively working to strengthen technological sovereignty and meet the demand for modern eco-friendly vehicles at the expense of domestic products, which corresponds to the Development Strategy of the Automotive Industry of the Russian Federation.
