Today, on October 10, 45 years have passed from the day an assembly conveyor was launched in the dump truck production building of Neftekamsk auto plant. This day is considered an official starting point of the history of NEFAZ PTC – the largest subsidiary of KAMAZ, one of the biggest and rapidly developing engineering enterprises of Bashkiria.
On October 11, 1977, the main conveyor of the dump truck production building was put into operation to produce the first 13 KAMAZ-5511 dump trucks and start their mass output. This event followed five years of strenuous construction of the largest industrial enterprise in the city of Neftekamsk. For four and a half tens of years, the company has come a long way from the first ten-tonne dump truck to a wide line of unique products to meet all kinds of customers’ needs.
Neftekamsk’s auto plant is unique in that several productions, being parts of one enterprise and conducting various activities, are located on one site. The basic types of products by NEFAZ are dumpers, passenger and crew buses, electric buses, tank vehicles, dump carriers and semitrailers.
In 2018, the production area of KAMAZ in Neftekamsk successfully launched series production of a high-tech product – the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus developed by KAMAZ engineers at the request of Mosgortrans, To date, over 790 such vehicles have been made.
In 2021, the enterprise took the largest share in the large-class bus segment on the Russian market that is equal to 36% (+3% y-o-y). NEFAZ mastered the widest model range of buses: city, suburban, intercity, northern, CNG and LNG versions. The company’s products proved to be reliable, even operating in heavy climatic conditions in more than 60 regions of Russia and countries of the near abroad. NEFAZ is a 15-time winner of the All-Russian competition of the Russia’s 100 Best Goods Program.
NEFAZ PTC is persistently carrying out an investment program, upgrading equipment in shops, introducing new technologies. The investment volume for 2020 made 154 million roubles, for 2021 – 268 million roubles. These funds were allocated to purchase high-tech equipment.
Today’s main target of the investment activity of NEFAZ PTC is to implement the investment project for Expansion of Production Facilities for Output of Passenger Motor Vehicles up to 3,000 Units a Year. The idea of the project was to double production capacities to produce passenger vehicles from 1,500 to 3,000 units a year and to arrange up-to-date high-tech production with the use of advanced technological solutions in welding, painting and assembling production shops in 2022-2024. Another significant activity is the investment project Development of Production Facilities for Output of K5 Dumpers and Modernization of Dumper Production in NEFAZ PTC.
NEFAZ was put in the Federal Register All-Russian Book of Honour of 2021 upon the recommendation of the executive authority of Bashkortostan. The enterprise received a standard certificate and a certificate for active participation in the region’s social and economic development. Being enlisted in the Register All-Russian Book of Honour means to NEFAZ that the company’s importance is once again proved and NEFAZ people’s contribution to the development of the republic is acknowledged. This high appraisal witnesses the reliability of the enterprise as an employer and a partner.
